Protean Ltd. has developed technology for a simple detection of various pathogens and specific DNA and RNA sequences based on isothermal amplification. The technology profits from in-house certified production of amplification enzymes BstI DNA polymerase and ProRT Reverse Transcriptase.
RT-LAMP (reverse transcription and loop-mediated isothermal amplification) allows amplification of nucleic acids with a high specificity, efficiency and speed under isothermal conditions - ie. at constant temperature, achievable in incubators, hybridization ovens or dry blocks. The results are reliably read based on the color change by naked eye or by mobile device. Graphical analysis software is available upon request. The test includes all components necessary for the detection of any target of interest, except specific primers.
Screening of samples for pathogen specific target or any other nucleic acid target. Compatible with various sampling methods - saliva, gargling, nasopharyngeal swabs, BAL, sputum. Clearly visible colorimetric detection by a naked eye or a mobile device. Colorless or azure positive samples. Graphic analysis software for 96-well plate analysis available upon request.
Nucleic acid purification is usually not required. It must be tested for each specific application.
The kit includes all reagents needed (except specific primers), positive control & primers, and reaction tubes with a dye spotted in the cap. Reaction tubes included are 8-strips or 96-well plate supplemented with dye-spotted caps.
Specificity is dependent on the LAMP primers used. The sensitivity corresponds to RT-PCR at Ct 35-38.
